It's official - I can cook a turkey! This is really old news, but I just ran across the pictures and I am so darn proud of it, I had to share. It wasn't raw, it wasn't burnt - SUCCESS. And I did it myself since my mom was home sick that day - although it did take about 8 phone calls to get through it. So, after 33 years of life, and 11 years of marriage, and 8 years of mommyhood, I finally cooked a turkey! Go me! (And Go Rich for carving it!) p.s. Only in certain parts of the country can you wear shorts on Thanksgiving Day, as Rich is sporting, and I am so happy to be a desert-dweller.
Good for you!!! I've only cooked a premade frozen one, but I'm only in my eigth year of marriage. ;) It will be my goal to cook a bird by my 15th year.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your turkey looked AMAZING!!!
Woo hoo! Impressive.
ReplyDeleteI made my first turkey last year.
It sure does feel like a big accomplishment which is sort of funny since people cook turkeys all the time.
Equally (or perhaps more) impressive is the fact that you had two posts in one week! Way to start out the new year.
ps i think Dave Barry is hilarious too!
You look very proud of yourself!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is all of this? Cell phone, blogging, and a turkey? It's too early for some type of early mid-life event.
Nice job!
