Why blogging is better than farming...

Once again, to give credit to the one who made me create this blog, Teri has given me a list of possible topics to blog about. One topic on the list she named, "Where I hide my spare cash". Now really, do I look dumb enough to post on the internet where I hide my spare cash?? Another on the list was named "Why blogging is better than farming" - which you'll notice coorelates nicely with my blog web address. So here's why:
Those of you who don't know already, Facebook is a major turn-off to me (sorry facebook fans, I just can't get into finding people from years past just to hear that they are making grilled cheese for lunch or buying a new couch or doing their third load of laundry). Also can't justify spending that kind of valuable TIME sitting at the computer. Don't mean to offend anyone. BUT THEN IT GOT BETTER! I heard from another good friend that she farms on facebook. She plants crops and waters them and checks in on them daily. She supposedly spends hours on this, bless her little heart. So, in terms of comparing the time-wasting, blogging is better than farming.
There you have it.

It's a good kind of pain...

It's been over 10 years, but I am proud to say I finally got to go waterskiing again! And, I got up my first try! And I got up on 1 ski my first try!
Now let's address the pain. Remembering it's been over 10 years, and that I never work out, and that it takes childbirth-type strength to get up on 1 ski, let's just say I've been whining like a baby all day. The pain can be compared to what I imagine it would fee like if:
  • I were to have gotten beaten with a stick
  • I were to have been kicked repeatedly by a horse
  • I were to have tripped and tumbled down a rocky mountain
  • I were to have joined the army and finished boot camp

Ok, maybe not that bad. But my muscles are so sore it feels like they're bruised...as in it hurt to put deoderant on this morning. But I did put deoderant on for the sake of those around me with noses.

But, it's the good kind of pain. The kind that you know you have because of a great accomplishement. The kind that you don't mind because it was worth it. I got teary-eyed many times out on the boat thinking of my dad - who taught me to water ski. We used to love going water skiing together. And I really miss him. But I wouldn't have shed tears out on that lake if I hadn't have had the kind of dad who took me waterskiing. And for that I am thankful. I guess that's sort of a good kind of pain too.

Why I'm wasting my time

My first blog. Talked into this exciting pasttime by my good friend Teri. Who apparently blogs lots. I however might log in again sometime in 2015. Hence, the title blog schmog.
Oh! Today might be my Saint's Day. I'll find out. If so, I'll even write something about her. Wow! Hold on to your seats, I'm on a roll...
